Youth and Family Ministries

 YOUTH and FAMILY MINISTRIES
Our Youth and Family Ministry honors each child and family as a perfect expression of God.
“We love you, we bless you, and we appreciate you – just the way you are!”
The above affirmation is shared with our whole spiritual community.

Children of all ages join the adults at the beginning of our Celebration Service. Children enjoy being with everyone for Opening Prayer, Joy Singing, Greeting Neighbors and saying Affirmations.

They love to join their teachers in lighting the Christ candle and help lead the Lord’s Prayer before going to their own classrooms.

Preschool Children & Toddlers
Our younger children have their own room with age appropriate toys, books and furnishings. We provide a fun environment for toddlers where they can begin to explore Unity principles through play and creativity. We are blessed to have Bonnie Collins as their primary teacher.

Especially for their first visit, it is ideal to bring children into Friendship Hall before the service begins to meet their teachers and have some familiarity with their new space.

Lower and Upper Elementary
Our school-aged children meet together in the center room of Friendship Hall. Their Sunday lessons focus on reinforcing the idea that God is everywhere present and that they are loved unconditionally.

We are committed to helping our children learn and apply the Unity principles in their lives.

Children have their own prayer and meditation time, a lesson and story time and opportunities for crafts to support them in integrating the Unity lessons they learn.

Our Goals
•    To support and draw out the spiritual wisdom within each child
•    To teach Unity basics by example
•    To provide a safe, caring environment for the spiritual growth of our children.
•    To serve our children with joy and enthusiasm so they enjoy being here
•    To expand our Youth and Family Ministry to serve older children & young adults

Our Invitation
Our co-founder Myrtle Fillmore heard Spirit asking this question, "Who will take care of the children?"  Of course, her answer was "I will!"
If Unity has made a difference in your life and you would like to pass on the blessing, we invite you to prayerfully consider serving our children. Our Youth and Family Ministry team is a wonderful place to step up to be God’s love-in-action and be a part of growing a Unity consciousness for generations to come.  Training and mentoring is always provided.
