From Doubt to Faith
with Carolyn Warnemuende, April 8, 2018
Do you remember the story of the disciple Thomas who doubted that Jesus had come to visit the other disciples when they had locked themselves in a room because of their fears? And do you remember that he said to the others that he needed to “touch the wounds” of Jesus before he would believe? He became known to us as “doubting Thomas” because he couldn’t take what his fellow disciples were saying on faith alone. I don’t know about you, but often in my life I need to experience for myself before I can believe. No matter how much I love or trust someone, what they tell me about their perceptions or understandings doesn’t increase my faith. Only experiencing first hand does. As we join together this Sunday, let us look at how we can move from doubt to faith and experience the freedom of knowing the Truth-the Truth that sets us free.
